A Posture of Excellence
Whether your pursuing personal or professional success, a posture of excellence is required. Posture? Yes, posture. This word may conjure up images of someone sitting or standing perfectly straight. But that’s not the kind of posture I’m talking about. Instead, I picture someone like Misty Copeland, the first African American female principal dancer for the prestigious American Ballet Theatre. At the tender age of 13, she was told she was too old to start studying ballet and had the wrong body for ballet. Such words of rejection could make anyone slouch in their seat! But not Misty. She decided to perfect her posture in pursuit of excellence.
People who have a posture of excellence find themselves in the right place at the right time on purpose. They plan to be there. They will outshine their circumstances and keep their head up no matter what. People who pursue excellence know that…
